Whether you're country kin or a big city dweller, the best of autumn has yet to come. Here are the top 3 fall-tastic happenings we're most looking forward to!
1. LEAF COLLECTING
Goldenrod, coppery orange, rusty brown, maple wood, hunter green and scarlet – the rich colors of turning leaves bring the season to life! Native to our neck of the woods are Maple, Oak, Acorn and Cypress trees that boast craft-worthy treats, attracting cuddly creatures eager to stock their nests and prepare for their season of slumber. Just like the squirrels, chipmunks and grizzly bears we're bringing fall foliage back to our nests to brighten, color and decorate.
2. PUMPKIN CARVING
Petite and plump, textured and smooth, pumpkins have been popping up in our grocers' markets and roadside farmstands - but we enjoy picking ours straight from the patch. There’s just something about walking in our wellies, parting leaves and snipping curly green vines that makes us feel like we've discovered something no one else will have! And we won’t stop there. The discovery continues as we break out the carving knives, paints and stencils to make a giggly-faced gaggle of pumpkins to populate our porch.
3. FLANNEL SHEETS
We’ve been wearing our favorite cashmere sweaters and cozy knitted scarves for weeks, but the changing weather will soon have our beds beckoning an additional layer! Classic, ever-so-fluffy flannel sheets warm our toes and tuck us in for a deep night's sleep. Pinstriped, plaid and softer with every wash, they’ll cocoon us beneath a blanket-covered bed that’s so cozy, we’ll have yet another reason to push the snooze button on autumn’s cold, frost-covered mornings.
